Why are we in this mess?
The answer may be found here for all members of Congress
and citizens who VOTE!!
Think about it!
Or, more specifically how we got here, take a look at: This revealing site
For those who are still sceptical about the need to invade Iraq, it is suggested that you read: "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast.
Let's admit our gross error in this invasion, and get out now.
For those who say "we can't", look at the history of insurgency shown above.
If we don't exit now, we will have to find a reason down the road after many more casualties.
"Stamping out terrorism" is like "stamping out crime". It can't be done except on a case by case
basis. In Iraq we are providing easy targets for the terrorists.

General MacArthur also said to Congress and the Nation:
"The problem basically is theological and involves a spiritual recrudescence,
an improvement of human character that will synchronize with our
almost matchless advances in science, art, literature, and all
material and cultural developments of the past two thousand years.
It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh."

What can we as individuals do? Begin by taking off our blinders. Listen to and evaluate the rhetoric: For example:
- « Cut and Run » --a pejorative used to belittle anyone who is opposed to the senseless casualties we are taking
and the squandering of the national treasury in Iraq.
- « Stay the Course » - Buzz words to imply that we are stalwart, but in reality refusing to admit that
the administration has made a mistake. Political futures hang in the balance.
- « We are fighting them over there to avoid fighting them over here » - is an absurdity!! Although isolated individual attacks in our country are inevitable
as long as we « Stay the Course » there is no way that we could have an armed conflict at home even remotely resembling the insurgency in Iraq. Our law enforcement and military infrastructure is too strong.
